Right to Manage eligibility checker

Answer five quick questions to see whether your building is likely to qualify for the Right to Manage under the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002. Nothing is stored, and you do not need to sign up.

Question 1 of 617%

Is the building self-contained?

RTM only applies to a structurally detached building, or a vertically divided part whose services (water, drainage, electrics) are independent, or could be without significant interruption to other occupiers.

Does a different person own the freehold of any other self-contained part?

For example a separate freeholder for the shops below, or another block on the same site.

This is a guide based on the main RTM qualifying tests, not legal advice. Confirm your position with LEASE or a specialist solicitor before serving a claim notice. Read the full Right to Manage guide.
